And there are many more examples of God intervening in IMPOSSIBLE situations throughout the Bible.
Our Founding Fathers counted on the 'favor of the Lord' working in their behalf, in behalf of 'the righteous'!! And they recognized it! The word used back then in the 1700's for recognizing God's intervening in the behalf of the righteous was 'Providence'.
